Overview

This two-day intensive hands-on course is designed for dental technicians and clinicians who want to elevate the esthetic quality of their monolithic zirconia restorations using microlayering techniques (MiYO® system). Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of material selection, color application, and layering techniques to achieve lifelike results with consistency and precision.

Through a combination of presentations, live demonstrations, and guided practice, attendees will explore the full workflow of MiYO®—from color and pink layering to structure application, contouring, and final polishing. Each participant will complete and fire their own restorations under expert supervision, ensuring real-world skill development and confidence in achieving natural esthetics.

What you'll learn

  • Understand the principles of monolithic restorations and their advantages in strength, efficiency, and esthetics.
  • Select appropriate zirconia materials and recognize how material choice impacts final shade and translucency.
  • Understand the rationale of using porcelain microlayering and correctly applying it to reproduce natural enamel and gingival tones.
  • Layer and manipulate Structure materials to enhance form, depth, and surface vitality.
  • Execute proper state preparation and understand the importance of surface conditioning prior to ceramic application.
  • Develop realistic morphology and texture through controlled contouring and surface finishing techniques.
  • Perform correction and external staining procedures to refine esthetic details and achieve final shade harmony.
  • Polish and finish restorations to professional standards for long-lasting esthetics and function.
  • Evaluate and troubleshoot outcomes, ensuring reproducibility in daily laboratory practice.

Kite Saito is a Certified Dental Technician and Master Dental Ceramist with over 20 years of experience in advanced esthetic and implant restorations. Originally from Yokohama, Japan, Kite trained in Los Angeles, completing the LACC Dental Technology Program in 2004 and finishing the two-year UCLA Master Dental Ceramist Program in 2011.

Today, Kite works at Ozark Prosthodontics in Fayetteville, Arkansas, where he specializes in full-arch monolithic zirconia restorations and the artful use of MiYO® liquid ceramics for lifelike esthetics. He combines cutting-edge digital workflows—including iCam 4D photogrammetry and advanced design strategies—with the artistry of ceramic characterization.

Kite shares his passion and knowledge through hands-on education and international lectures, helping dental professionals achieve predictable, highly esthetic outcomes.

How many CE credits will I earn?

13 CE credits. GPS Dental Training is a Nationally Approved PACE Program Provider for FAGD/MAGD credit. Credits are added to your account when your certificate is issued.

When do I get my ticket?

Right after payment we email your ticket with its QR code. It is also saved in My Account › My Tickets.

What is the refund policy?

30+ days before: 100% refund; 15-29 days before: 50% refund; 14 days or less: No refund.
